Veterinarian Services are a “Luxury Expense”?
Our dumber than a sack of dirty underwear Governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger has recommended broadening the Sales and Use Tax in California to include certain “luxury” services like golf and furniture repair. When reading all the information about the proposed tax, it would add approximately 9% to the cost of veterinary care. It is very telling about this administration that they lump veterinary medical services for companion animals in with appliance and furniture repair. Why should pets suffer because the state of California can’t get it’s financial problems solved. If you have a second, please contact the individuals below and let them know that the health of your pet is not a “luxury service.”

I could balance the budget in CA and significantly clean up the air and water in 3 months.
#1. Increase luxury tax to $25,000+ for all new/used cars purchased/licensed in CA with EPA under 25/mpg (exception for work vehicles, etc)
#2. Increase tax on all animal products so $99 burgers cost $5, etc
#3. Create/increase State Property tax on all land over .5 acres
If people want to drive gas guzzlers they need to pay the real cost of them to the environment and our health. Same goes with food.
that was supposed to be .99 above its freaking amazing that burgers are still .99 after 15 years of inflation… that’s our tax $
Call it “The Animal Food Products Health and Environmental clean up Tax” what the Fed takes away we can take back at the state & local level.
