After yesterday, I didn’t think there was any possible way I was going to be able to last 3 weeks on this diet and an even bigger tragedy would have been if I was put off of avocados for life. I’m glad to report that I’m feeling much better today. This morning I was running a little late so instead of eating breakfast at home, I had to improvise. There’s a Robecks not too far from my work, so I stopped in there to see what/if I could get. After a short conversation with the clerk at the register (I like to call him “Mumbles” since I can never understand what he’s saying) I found out that any smoothie can be made all fruit for an extra .50. That’s going to come in handy. I walked out of there with some kind of blueberry concoction. For lunch, I sat there watching my co-worker wolf down a Pita Pizza from Tierra Cafe while I broke rule number 1 of The Fruitarian Foundation, I mixed fruit! I had bought a nice container of mixed fresh fruit at Ralphs since the thought of eating a bowl completely comprised of pineapple, or mango, or oranges, or apples really didn’t appeal to me. During the course of the day, I kept snacking on some raw almonds at my desk. I used to think that I loved nuts, but now know that I love salted nuts. The salt, that’s important. For dinner, I couldn’t stomach another meal of citrus sweetness so I ended up having an avocado plain with a little fresh lime juice, some raw Spanish peanuts and some tomato juice. A note on the tomato juice, I had run in quick to the store to grab some apple juice when I saw tomato juice sitting right next to it. I’m not a big fan of tomatoes, but it said “100% Tomato Juice” on the package, so I figured “why not?”. When I got home and tried it, it tasted fantastic! I then looked at the ingredients and realized the reason it tasted so good was due to the added salt. Woops! But I’m keeping it!
