Doomies This Weekend
Many blogs have been lamenting the close of one of LA most prized vegan restaurants, Doomie’s Home Cookin’. If you never went there, you’re in luck! This weekend Doomie will be serving food at three different locations. Tonight he’s in Pasadena at 580 N. Lake St. starting at 6:30 and will be serving party oriented food that wasn’t the regular menu at Doomies in China Town. It’s a $5 donation. Saturday and Sunday he will be making up a whole host of stuff for an all you can eat $10 feast. For details, click on the image above. Here’s to hoping he’ll find a new home fast. Also, be sure to friend him on MySpace so you can be alerted to all the new Doomies happenings.

I actually love Oreans, and it’s too bad they don’t make it truly vegan (cheese) because then it would be so close to greatness. I like the nondairy soft serve, because it makes a good root beer float. I like the chili fries, but only after I dump a bunch of hot sauce on top. I like the veggie dog but only after I doctor it up with tons of ketchup and condiments that I bring. I am thinking of opening a cheap vegan fast food place like this in Costa Mesa, not nice like Veggie Grill, but cheap and…a little weird. Like Oreans! The first thing I want is to do nondairy blizzards. I’m so sick of seeing signs for mint oreo shakes and not getting any, shakes that is.
We tried to go to the Pasadena one, but we got there too early and had somewhere to be late. So we’re going to the one on Glendale Blvd. today. Can’t wait!
Non-dairy blizzards is a great idea! I’ll have to try that sometime in our blender! Maybe a thin-mint blizzard…
