On Saturday, The Vegan Collection will be at the Collectively Conscious Showcase along with other vendors selling products, plus plenty of snacks for sale (cookies, juice, coffee), and even a DJ. LA Vegan Drinks/Homeless Pet Toy Drive: Technically this is part of the Collectively Conscious Showcase, but it’s going to be so awesome that it deserves it’s own mention. This Saturday is “Save A Stray” day at the fourteen Los Angeles area animal care locations. There will be discounted prices on adoptions as well as volunteers on hand to assist you in finding a perfect match. By choosing to adopt, you save the life of the animal you take home, the one who now has space at the shelter as well as the one that was never bred.
All of the facilities managed by Los Angeles Animal Services, the LA County Department of Animal Care and Control and SEAACA will be joining together to help find wonderful homes for deserving pets!

Animal Acres Farm Chore Day: Spend the afternoon helping out Animal Acres by doing chores and general assistance on their farm. They will even feed you a vegan meal for just a couple hours worth of work! They ask that you arrive between 10 and 11 AM and lunch is at 2. For more details click here. Veggie Snow & Sun Bugs – Hooray for Snow!: Personally, I can’t stand snow or any sport that has to deal with it (living 25+ years in the midwest will do that to you), but for people who do like such things, with all this rain/snow, this weekend will be amazing. I can’t stress enough how much small retailers and charities appreciate your business during the holiday season. So before you do all your shopping at a big box retailer, take a few minutes to look at her suggested links and see if there’s anything on the list that would make the perfect gift while giving a little back to the animals.
The Vegan Collection and Animal Rescue, Media & Education (A.R.M.E.) are teaming up for a Holiday Homeless Pet Drive. We will be collecting donations and cash for items needed by local shelters at Vegan Drinks being held at 2 Headed Horse Art Studio on December 19th from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. Anyone who makes a donation will be eligible for a raffle at the end of the event to win fabulous prizes generously donated by Alternative Outfitters, Cosmo’s Vegan Shoppe, Herbivore Clothing Company, Sarah Kramer and The Vegan Collection.
