Eight local animal rights activists will be going to trial on Tuesday, September 13. They were arrested on May 15, 2010, while engaging in legal picketing and demonstrations in the neighborhoods of UCLA primate vivisectors. This same protest activity has been going on for years, on a monthly basis, and nothing in activists’ behavior on this particular day was different from any other protest they had engaged in for this campaign. Activists were not told why they were being arrested, but were later charged with focused picketing and noise violations.
