Cheaper Shipping Shipping rates continue to rise when purchasing items online. To counteract that, we’ve now added real-time shipping quotes and it’s now possible to ship some of our items for as little as $3.00! A list of shipping options is shown at checkout and you can pick the one which best fits your budget and delivery date.

Two New Donation Organizations Every purchase you make at The Vegan Collection Store benefits the animals. We have given 25% of all profits to organizations that are advocates for animals since we started the company and we are happy to announce our the two new charities that we are now supporting. Animal Cruelty Investigations (ACI) is a corporation dedicated to the prevention of cruelty to farm animals and work to protect farm animals through cruelty investigations, humane enforcement efforts and the seizure of abused and neglected farm animals. The Welfare of Stray Dogs (WSD) is a Mumbai, India-based organization working to eradicate rabies and control the street-dog population in a humane, scientific way. The Vegan Collection is happy to announce that you can now find our belts at Portland’s very own Herbivore Clothing Company! We started reading Herbivore Magazine way back at issue one and have had the pleasure of visiting their Portland store. So you can now stop by their shop and see the items in person or order them from their online store.

We are happy to announce that Minneapolis’ Fast & Furless Vegan Emporium is now carrying The Vegan Collection wallets and belts in their shop. I have a particular fondness for this shop since I spent a good portion of the ’90s living in Minneapolis wishing there was a vegan friendly shop somewhere in town. I moved and then they opened. Bummer for me, great for the Twin Cities. We are thrilled to have them carrying our product. We met the people behind Humane Consumer at the 2009 AR National Conference last month. Their postcard had been sitting in my “to-do pile” as a reminder to check out the site since then. I had some time this past weekend to start going through said pile and finally visited their site and it’s great! What Humane Consumer does that I haven’t seen anywhere else is keep an up-to-date list of cruelty-free products that stick to extremely stringent standards. Companies that make their list must be vegan, all items sold by the company can’t be tested on animals, and companies can’t be a subsidiary of a company that test on animals or makes non-vegan items. We’re happy to announce that The Vegan Collection was just listed on their site last week! You can check out their site here which is now my go-to list of guaranteed cruelty free companies.
