I can’t stress enough how much small retailers and charities appreciate your business during the holiday season. So before you do all your shopping at a big box retailer, take a few minutes to look at her suggested links and see if there’s anything on the list that would make the perfect gift while giving a little back to the animals.

During the holiday season one group that could really use some holiday cheer are the thousands of animals stuck in the local shelters. Operation Santa Paws is looking for donated pet toys for shelters and rescues to improve the health and demeanor of those pets while reducing their stress to increase the animals’ chances of being adopted. I can’t think of a more worthy cause. The drop-off point around my area in LA is Bob Taylor Properties at 5526 North Figueroa Street, LA 90042. They are accepting gifts through the 19th.
