<p>We spent a low-key thanksgiving just cooking for ourselves this year. No family, no friends, just good food. We were a little late in the game getting our un-turkey, so we ended up making a <strong>Tofurkey</strong> instead of the fabulous <strong>Celebration Roast</strong> like <a title="Veganize It" href="http://jennshaggy.blogspot.com/2008/11/vegan-thanksgiving-part-1-juniper-berry.html" target="_blank">some</a> <a title="quarrygirl.com" href="http://www.quarrygirl.com/2008/11/27/vegan-thanksgiving/" target="_blank">other</a> people. All in all, it was a smashing success. On the menu was:</p>
<ul>
<li>- Homemade French Bread</li>
<li>- Tofurkey with stuffing</li>
<li>- Mashed potatoes with green onions and gravy</li>
<li>- Green bean casserole</li>
<li>- Cranberry sauce</li>
</ul>
<p>But the true highlight of the afternoon was homemade cinnamon rolls for dessert!</p>
<p><a href="http://blog.thevegancollection.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/img_1946.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-875" title="Thanksgiving 2008" src="http://blog.thevegancollection.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/img_1946-225x300.jpg" alt="" width="225" height="300" /></a></p>
<p>And to top it all off, some of <a title="Constructotower" href="http://www.constructotower.com/homebrew.html" target="_blank">Bob&#8217;s homemade boysenberry cider</a>.</p>
<p>Mission accomplished.</p>

Sarah Palin might have inadvertently done something positive for the animal rights cause with this publicity nightmare:</p>
<blockquote><p>Former Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin is causing a stir for an interview she gave after pardoning an Alaska turkey Thursday, during which one bird was being slaughtered in the background.</p></blockquote>
<p>The <a title="Turkey Pardon" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-kjM1asH-8&amp;eurl" target="_blank">video</a> and <a title="Palin Interview" href="http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/11/21/palin-interview-causes-stir/" target="_blank">full article</a> can be seen on CNN&#8217;s website.</p>
