Someone tipped us off to this clip that was aired on TMZ on TV last week. Media mogul Harvey Levin takes out his Vegan Collection “Traveler” wallet and proclaims “Leather Free!” His staff gives him a hard time about it, but we think it’s great that Harvey’s standing up to his staff and standing up for the animals by not wearing leather.

Announcing New Wallets from The Vegan Collection

If you were at the Animal Rights National Conference a couple of weekends ago, this is old news, but for everyone else: The Vegan Collection is now offering wallets. We have three styles to choose from, a classic Bi-Fold, a simple Tri-Fold and a Compact Bi-Fold. All three are available in both brown and black. The bi- and tri-folds are $24 and the compact is $22. Stylish, vegan, reasonably priced and available in our store now.

I started reading the very awesome VEGGYWOOD blog a couple of months ago. Basically, Polly Helen does exactly what I wish I had time to do on this blog, write a couple of posts a day about animal friendly events happening around LA and miscellaneous vegan links on the web. Well, today up pops a post on her site about The Vegan Collection in my RSS aggregator. Awesome! Check it out here and make sure to subscribe to the blog feed. 2009 Vegan Earth Day Festival Recap

Although the turnout may not have been what was anticipated, the weather for this year’s Vegan Earth Day Festival was exceptional. Different outlets hypothesized that attendance would exceed that of the recent similar festival, WorldFest, which boasted an attendance in the thousands. Despite the difference in the size of crowd, the location, Pierce College was far superior and inviting. The venue had built in tables, chairs, bathroom facilities (Yay!) and a serene atmosphere despite the odious musical talent. When bumping into friends at the fest they quickly proclaimed that the fest was so under the radar and that they’d only just found out that day.

Regardless of its shortcomings being a vendor at the event was well worth it. Thanks yet again to those who stopped by our booth! The next event we can be spotted at will be the Animal Rights Conference in Los Angeles (Jul 16-20). Hope to see you there!
