More World Vegan Day Info

Posted by Kevin | Events, News | Monday 3 November 2008 1:07 pm

Time Magazine ran a small article about veganism called “A Brief History of Veganism” in last week’s issue. There’s not a lot of new information in there, but you can find it online here if you want to check it out. Between this article and Lush going vegan for the day, I would say that this past World Vegan Day had to have been the highest profile and most successful to date. Did anyone go to the event at Animal Acres this past weekend? I’m really curious how that went.

World Vegan Day: Vegan Drinks

Posted by Kevin | Events, Los Angeles | Sunday 2 November 2008 7:49 pm

Stopped by Sante La Brea on Saturday night to celebrate World Vegan Day. We ran into old friends, friends we seem to see on a weekly basis and met some great new people. We had already eaten, so we didn’t try any of the entrees but had a fantastic piece of peanut butter/chocolate pie. But the general consensus was that the food was excellent. Check out photos from the event below.

LUSH Goes Vegan in Celebration of World Vegan Day

Posted by admin | News | Thursday 30 October 2008 9:27 am

So far this is the highest profile announcement I’ve heard about this upcoming Saturday’s World Vegan Day. All 464 employees in the 72 North American retails stores of LUSH Cosmetics are going vegan for the day. A rough survey of their company revealed that 20% of their employees were already vegetarian, but all have agreed to go vegan for World Vegan Day. Kudos to LUSH for taking such a bold move.
